Tax Proposal

The Tax Proposal page provides the financial impact proposed to voters as part of Proposal A of the 2022 WSISD Bond Package.

Proposition A
Proposition A is a $115 Million Bond Package that addresses future enrollment growth and includes improvements at all schools and facilities in WSISD. Proposition A is a 2 cent increase to WSISD’s Interest and Sinking Fund, which funds debt payments of the district, including construction of new facilities. The $115 million bond package would increase the I&S tax rate from .48 to .50 per $100 valuation.

Homeowners 65 & Over

Citizens 65 and over who have applied for and received the over 65 Exemption will not have an increase in their property taxes as a result of this bond.

Texas Proposition 2 - Homestead Exemption Increase
With the Passage of Texas Proposition 2, the Bond Proposal would NOT impact Property Taxes for
homeowners with the Homestead Exemption; Property Taxes could decrease.

Texas Proposition 2 (also on the May 2022 ballot) would increase the Homestead Exemption for school district property taxes from $25,000 to $40,000. The increased exemption would take effect on Jan. 1, 2022. Click here for more details!

Residents could see an increase in their property taxes as a result of appraised value increases by the Tarrant Appraisal District.
